Team

Twinkle Twinkle is an independently owned and operated childcare and early learning centre, run by a local Tauranga family.

We are a close-knit team that wants to make your child’s early years the best they can be, ensuring they feel safe, supported and encouraged to learn at all times.

Rosie Crombie - Managing Director/Owner

Twinkle Twinkle is built on land that has been in my family for over 20 years. It’s so exciting to be providing a unique service in the community where I have spent every summer as a child.

I grew up in Tauranga and moved back from Auckland in 2011 where I worked in the corporate world before establishing the HR department for the Auckland Kindergarten Association. I then managed a complex of 5 childcare centres for BestStart.

In 2011 our family moved back to Tauranga to run our own centre which we successfully owned for 6 years.

I really value reciprocal relationships with families and look forward to you coming into our beautiful centre to feel the love, warmth and kindness.

Tyler Cole - Head Teacher (B.Ed ECE)

I was born and raised in this beautiful city but have also ventured to different parts of the world. In 2019 my family returned from living in France. We spent three years there and it was a fantastic experience, but Mount Maunganui will always be home to us.

I believe it is important to find fun and unique ways to build upon your child's own individual learning, all while doing so in an environment that is safe and stimulating, allowing them to reach their fullest potential.

I feel very privileged to be a part of your family’s early learning journey at Twinkle Twinkle, and I can’t wait to welcome you in to this amazing new centre.

Rachael Street

I have just relocated to Tauranga from Rotorua to become part of the Twinkle Twinkle team. I'm excited about getting to know this beautiful city and spending time at the beach, as I have a real love for the outdoors.

I also have a passion for art, so I am looking forward to providing creative art experiences with your child. I am in my final year of study for my Bachelor in Early Childhood. I am looking forward to the opportunity to enhance and extend my own learning through practice, while creating valuable, meaningful interactions within this centre for you, your whanau and child.

I love working with children and believe in providing fun, quality early learning experiences to help them grow, becoming confident and competent learners.

Looking forwarded to meeting and welcoming you to this centre.

Jordan Malpas

Kia ora!

I am a fully qualified and registered teacher, passionate about working with infants and their families. I have taught in rural primary schools in New Zealand, and numerous preparatory schools within London; my move back home now propelling me into the early years.

My background allows me a unique perspective to smoothly bridge the progress from early childcare to primary schooling. I am passionate about creating a home-away-from-home for Tamariki and their families, nurturing and supporting their values and interests through a play-based curriculum.

I place a large focus on establishing a dynamic style of teaching which empowers our Tamariki to be creative and independent individuals, as well as encourage them to work cohesively as peers as they negotiate the world of friends and new learnings.

I am excited to collaboratively work with families/whanau to nurture children to reach their full potential.

Aroha Jacobs

Tena koutou katoa, my name is Aroha Jacobs and I live in Papamoa with my whanau.

We are so happy to live in beautiful Tauranga Moana and feel privileged to be part of the community. I have recently completed my Bachelor of Teaching at Waikato University in Tauranga and look forward to being a part of the Twinkle Twinkle team and meeting all our new families.

I am excited about being part of your child's journey as we weave tamariki interest-based learning around the principals and standards of Te Whariki. Its holistic development empowers positive relationships with our families and communities which in turn supports our tamariki to be confident learners as they approach transition to school.

Amber King

I was originally born in Australia and moved between NZ and Aus seven times before settling in Tauranga, which I have called home for over 15 years now.

I have been lucky enough to experience different cultures which opened my eyes to new foods and sparked my interest into becoming a chef.

I have a huge passion for nutrition and, since becoming a mother of two young boys, take pride in ensuring my children have a good, solid diet to fuel their growing bodies.

I am so excited to begin teaching and see it as a privilege to be able to share knowledge with others.

Alarna Templeton

Kia Ora, originally a Taranaki girl, I've lived in Tauranga for the last 20 years. Over this time I have been involved in early childhood, either nannying or centre based, and spent the last eight years as a visiting teacher in the home-based sector.

I am a happy, positive, vibrant person who is willing to give anything a go. I am a firm believer in valuing everyone for who they are and what's important to them and that respect is key, regardless of age, ability and gender.

Learning through play is paramount in helping our tamariki develop skills and competencies in life and, as a teacher, it's my job to make that learning rich and empowering.

I look forward to getting to know you and your whanau and being a part of your tamariki's learning journey.

Kerry

I was born in South Africa and grew up in a small town called Pietermaritzburg. I have taught ECE in South Africa and Abu Dhabi.

I recently moved to New Zealand and I am excited to continue my love of teaching in Tauranga.

My goal is to help guide and support children on their way to growing into creative, confident and independent learners by giving them a secure and nurturing environment to achieve this.

I am looking forward to embarking on this journey with you all.

Morgan Bennett

I was born and grew up here in Tauranga, but moved to Wellington for uni, where I stayed for eight years. I am so happy to be back here at the mount though - there’s no place like home!

I am a fully qualified and registered teacher, passionate about working with children of all ages and stages. I believe in creating a positive learning environment, where each child is valued, and encouraged to participate in building their own curriculum.

Outside of teaching, my biggest passion is food! I love cooking and trying out new recipes, but what I like the most is spending my money on food. I love nothing more than heading out for dinner, so send your recommendations my way!

LeRoi Kippen

Tena koutou,

My name is LeRoi Kippen.

I would love to take a moment to tell you a little about myself.

I believe every child is an individual, just as I'm an individual and I want to respect this individuality as it is the main driving force to where the child wants to go on their learning journey through life.

Me as an individual...

I am South African born, 35-years-old with a huge love for children. I have none of my own but I do have a 3-year-old brother, who inspired me to choose this career. I love him as if he were my own.

I moved to Wellington at 18 and then to Christchurch at 21 to obtain my Musical Theatre Degree. I enjoyed the change and experience following a show period in Australia and have worked with children through theatre for a few years during my studies and after, doing children's plays and working for Capital E.

I have started my studies to become a qualified ECE educator through NZTC and am delighted to say that it has been and still is a wonderfully rewarding journey of growth, challenges and fulfilment.

I look forward to working with the Twinkle Twinkle team to make the children's learning journey a joyful and creative one.
